Kenny McKinley dead: Third player in 4 years to die
The body of Kenny McKinley, wide receiver of the Denver Broncos was found in his apartment by two girls who then called the cops to report it. Initially the cause of death is believed to be a self-inflicted gun wound, making it a suicide case. McKinley is the third player in the last four years that the team has lost to death. The earlier players who died were cornerback Darrent Williams and running back Damien Nash.
McKinley’s friends are questioning the suicide theory since they are all of the belief that McKinley was a happy go lucky soul with a lot to look forward in life. The suicide seems abnormal since no one remembers seeing Kenny McKinley sad or upset in the last few days of his life. Police are yet to reveal if a suicide note has been retrieved, but the contents will remain privileged to the family members and will not be revealed in public.
Team members mourned the loss of a great player at a fundraiser in honour of McKinley. The Broncos are expected to make a formal statement regarding the whole incident.
With the police guarding most of the information and believing it to be an open and shut case of suicide, there is little chance that further investigation will happen.
