There are several sorts of management – Proactive and reactive. Proactive management is making things happen Even though reactive management entails waiting for things to happen.

Planning and control go hand in hand. Planning provides two crucial contributions to the handle approach – planning helps in providing an earlier warning technique to detect deviations from the plan. The data generated helps in comparing the actual results with the desired results and correct the deviations.

managers fail mainly because they are overburdened with time-consuming actions, which can be resolved if they are delegated to the subordinates. A well-trained subordinate will perform the task if the manager delegates authority clearlier. However, if the task is not properly defined or if the subordinate does not have enough delegation of authority to perform the task, the manager has to spend his time in correcting the work and supervising his subordinates.

The job of a manager is to manage and get work done by others. effective professionals delegate as many regimen tasks as they can to their subordinates, so that they can focus on the more important decisions and tasks on hand. For a growing organization, delegation is the key to accomplishment. The manager cannot be everywhere and do everything.

Procrastination is the course of action of delaying doing work. For a manager, small task when delayed lead to crisis. The best way to go over this is to attack the task and solve the dilemma. Delegation is one of the approaches by which the manager can solve the problem. Delegation entails a two-way relationship between the person who delegates the work (manager) and the person to whom the task is delegated (the subordinate).

Once the manager has decided to delegate the work and has identified a subordinate to implement the task, he requirements to follow three steps - briefing the task, monitoring the progress of work and evaluating results (which is basically comparing the actual results with the plans and rectifying the deviations).

success managers are those who encourage delegation of work and assign the task to their subordinates in faith and trust. They act as mentors to their subordinates. A good manager will delegate work and by monitoring and helping the subordinate may help him in starting to be an efficient and effective worker.
