Being a Professional Cake Decorator: A Guide

Cake decorators are that type of culinary artists who design, create and deck up baked goods.   The career of a cake decorator depends equally on decorating qualities, creativity, experience and experience.   Though there is no firm career path to become a cake decorator, many people start with formal training and apprenticeship program.

Voluntary, professional certification enables Cake Decorators to flaunt their pastry art skills and advance in the field. .   Culinary artists who have at least four years experience in preparing icing, decorating cakes and serving customers in commercial bakeries are offered the designation of Cake Decorator by Retail Bakers of America.    The certification candidates have to provide documentation of passage of a food sanitation course that is approved along with passing a 1 – day practical examination.
